Are you currently following all the latest entertainment trends? Do you have a hunger to know what's going on in the world? Then you are one who follows popular trends on the Internet. Why does it matter what is trending on the internet nowadays? The answer is simple, it can make you money! It doesn't matter what your blog or website is about, as long as you got some kind of hook to draw people in.
It's easy really, just type Google Trends into your web browser and you will see what is popular in that date and time. Politics, entertainment, and current events are top trends most of the time. So I guess the point here is, be current and stay current. That is your recipe.
Have you ever dreamed of doing something for a living that you love doing? Of coarse! Why not? Lets face it, everyone has a passion (most people anyway). Now to turn that passion into a business. If you are wondering where to start, it's simple, A PASSION! What do you enjoy doing? Take that and build from it. Turn your passion into a hobby. If you like to make styrofoam animal figures for example, make it a hobby and build a stock. Get used to creating new things (whether web content or a product). Once you got that down, tell people about it, it helps if people begin recognizing you based off your product. There are many ways to do this, create a website or blog, even social media accounts. Spread the word. Of coarse it will be a slow start, but you get my drift. Just jump right in, you never know where you may end up (hopefully successful).
Everybody nowadays has a smart phone. One thing people love to do including myself, is discover new and exciting apps in these mobile stores. Some apps are pretty elaborate, some are extremely simple. One thing I have noticed, even some of the simple apps have 10,000+ downloads! If that app cost .99¢ to download, well you could do the math. If the app is subscription based, even better. Some of the most successful apps such as Candy Crush use a system that lets the player purchase various things in game such as powerups to help progress easier. With that system, it's no wonder why they generate $800,000 daily. Have you got any app ideas?
Keep it social. Bottom line, when you don't know what to talk about, just rant. The point is, social platforms are the most used platform in the internet today. Folks who have trouble writing an email, can send a tweet nowadays. If you are trying to embed your brand or idea, you don't need to talk about it all the time, just talk about just, and throw it a blurp every now and then.
People remember more off of repetition. It subconsciously makes the brain expect a pattern. So when you talk, and people see your thoughts enough, they have a chance to form an opinion, and build an expectation of pattern based on your frequency of updates. Think of it this way, if your posts are worth a dollar each, how many would you have to write until you are where you want to be? Say the answer out loud then reach that goal.
Now that Google has changed their search algorithm, what is next for search engine optimization? Well, there really is no more "SEO". So the question is, how do you start ranking for your website? The answer is kind of in plain sight. If you haven't noticed, Google is shifting more towards genuine, organic, social, human interaction. With the implementation of custom Google+ URL's, you can see how Google wants to make it personal. Not only does it help with social integration, it help your readers know who you are, like a Facebook page. Makes me wonder why it took so long for them to utilize custom URL's to begin with.
So, what do you have to do? Marketing is one thing, but that can get pricey. Don't get me wrong, the only real way to get on the first page of Google is to run an AdWords campaign. Or you can go back to basics. You have heard it before, content is king. But you have to know what you are doing. After all, Google's new algorithms can distinguish generated content, and human created content. So, treat your website or blog like your social media, and write on into the sunset, also authorship is very important. Make sure and claim authorship for your posts. I don't feel like linking to any references, so Google it.
You know you have done it, you had gone to youtube
and watched those damn funny cats, being funny cats, and had laughed your ass off. I have.
I can't tell you how many times I have caught my cats doing something ridiculous, wishing I could have got it on camera. People go crazy for it.
Take the popular cat blog http://icanhas.cheezburger.com/
for example, it had exploded over one dumb picture that grew from there. If you got a funny cat pic or video, throw some ad on it. BAM! Success...
When wanting to make some extra money, what comes to mind? Well, there are a few things i'm sure. One thing I have done to get a little padding in my pocket, is flip items.
When i say flip items i mean buy something cheap, or that you know is under priced on craigslist
, then resell it for a little more then you bought it for. For example, I had bought an '89 Honda motorcycle for $100 that was basically a roadside decoration, but the motor turned. I turned around and resold it for $200. I doubled my money.
There are a few things you gotta look out for. Emergency moving sales, estate sales, everything's gotta go sales, or people who really don't know what they have sales.
Try it out, even if you only make $50, or even $10 more, that's more than what you had. Do that hundreds of times? Well the possibilities are endless.
